Air Cooler with Heater ZENET ZET-481, 1000/2000 W, Remote Control, 12 h Timer

The ZENET ZET-481 is a cooler and heater for use all year round. In summer it works as an air cooler with evaporative cooling. In the colder months it works as a heater with two settings, 1000 W and 2000 W. It also humidifies and filters the air, hence “4-in-1”.

In cooling mode, room air flows through a wet honeycomb pad. The water evaporates and takes heat from the air, so the air that comes out is noticeably cooler. For a stronger effect, put ice cubes or ice packs in the top ice compartment or in the water tank. The unit needs no exhaust hose. When cooling, it uses 65 W and moves up to 450 m³/h of air. Four wheels, a control panel, a remote control and a timer of up to 12 hours make the ZET-481 easy to live with, in rooms of up to 30 m².

Who it is for

For a rented flat, a bedroom, a home office or a holiday home. In summer you get a refreshing stream of air, in spring and autumn quick extra warmth, with one appliance instead of two.

It is no substitute for an air conditioner in intense heat, and it is not meant to be your only source of heating. The ZET-481 is designed for dry indoor rooms only, so do not use it in a bathroom.

How it works

Cooling. Fill the water tank and, if you like, add ice cubes or ice packs to the top ice compartment or straight into the water. The fan draws room air through the wet honeycomb pad, and the evaporating water cools the air. This is not an air conditioner: an air cooler lowers the room temperature less, but it works without a hose and uses little electricity. It works best with a door or window slightly open, so that humid air can escape.

Heating. Choose 1000 W or 2000 W, and the fan spreads the warmth around the room. After you switch it off, the fan runs on for a short time to cool the heating element.

Fan. Only the fan runs, with no water and no heating.

Frequently asked questions

Can the ZET-481 replace an air conditioner?

No. In summer it works as an air cooler with evaporative cooling, with no compressor, no refrigerant and no hose. It produces a cooler stream of air, but it lowers the temperature of the whole room far less than an air conditioner does.

How much electricity does it use?

Example: cooling at 65 W × 8 hours = 0.52 kWh. Heating on setting 2: 2000 W × 1 hour = 2 kWh. On setting 1: 1000 W × 1 hour = 1 kWh. Multiply the kWh by the price per kWh on your electricity bill.

How long does a full tank last?

According to the manufacturer, up to 25–30 hours. The actual running time depends on the setting, the room temperature and the humidity.

Can I put ice cubes straight into the water?

Yes. You can put ice cubes or ice packs in the top ice compartment or directly in the water tank. This chills the water further.

How do I clean the filter and honeycomb pad?

Both can be taken out and cleaned. Empty the water tank regularly, and let the tank and the pad dry completely before a longer break.
